AIMRI Summer Meeting 11 June 2010
The AIMRI summer event will be held in Amsterdam.
What is the AIMRI meeting about?
In this meeting we will consider two different types of problem:
a) Helping clients: e.g. handling cultural diversity in different markets; integrating different research methods; contacting hard to reach respondent groups
b) An opportunity to bring up and discuss the challenges which members face. Get real time, real life feedback on issues important to you and your business. For example: How to handle the problem employee (or customer). Dealing with financial institutions. How important is it to have a business plan?
We have space in the programme for one more paper so if you are interested in speaking please send a title and a brief synopsis to Richard Chilton at the address below...
At the hub of Amsterdam's best city centre location, the Park Hotel Amsterdam combines stylish looks and cosseting service with a contemporary mindset. You will enjoy a fabulous location, in the middle of one of Europe's most exciting cities between the famous Leidseplein, the Museumplein and the luxury fashion district. Park Hotel Amsterdam is a quiet, sophisticated hotel offering understated elegance and unparalleled service in an intimate, home-away-from-home atmosphere
Sightseeing, restaurants, nightlife and world class accommodations are all abundant for the visitor. The "Amsterdam" that most people know is the city centre, the semi-circle with Central Station at its core. It corresponds to the city as it was around 1850. Five major concentric canals ring the Old Center; the Singel, the Herengracht, the Keizersgracht, the Prinsengracht, and the Singelgracht, together forming the Grachtengordel, or Canal Belt
We plan to include a boat trip along Amsterdam’s beautiful canals. If possible this will start near the hotel and end near the restaurant where we are having dinner.
Why not stay for the weekend and enjoy this magnificent city.
What is included
We are keeping the member fee per delegate to a minimum £240 (€270); this includes registration, turnout at all the sessions, lunch (with wine), tea/coffee breaks, the boat trip and the gala dinner. The delegate fee is payable by all attending the sessions, including those giving short presentations. There will be no charge for accompanying persons but they may not attend the formal sessions: there will however be an extra charge for the gala dinner guests (this will include the boat trip)
For non members there is a slightly higher fee. In the case of new members who attend the meeting and join within 2 months we will waive the joining fee and refund the difference between the member and non-member meeting fees.
The Gala Dinner and the boat trip is included in the full delegate fee. This will cover aperitifs at the restaurant and a gourmet meal with wine. There will be a cost of £105 (€120) per person for guests. A booking form is attached
How to get there
The airport for Amsterdam is Schiphol. which offers flights to all parts of the world. It is also possible to arrive by train.
Once again we have chosen a most beautiful city for a stimulating event.
